Growing
I can feel a
great storm coming
beyond the horizon,
said the tree to its
leaves.
I know there will be
mighty winds, cold
weather
and a torrent of rain
soaking deep
into the ground.
But I know as well
the storm will clean
the Earth Mother,
and freshen all the air
around.
And I know
that if I survive the
storm,
after all is done,
I will have grown.
To accept completely
the life
the Earth gives to you,
you must accept as well
the storms that come
your way.
The beauty of life
is not that there are
never difficulties,
but that everything,
good, bad, or in
between,
by nature, carries
sustenance.
